Letteratura is the third volume of the Edilingua

series Italiani: personaggi che il mondo ci invidia,

a project created in collaboration with Smack

Education Milan. It aims to present the Italian

culture through the most important and well-

known artists.

The series is addressed at students with a B1-B2

level of the Common European Framework, who

study Italian as second and foreign language and it includes the following volumes: Arte,

Dante, Letteratura, Cinema, Moda e design.

Each volume, except for the monographic one on Dante, is dedicated to four Italian

characters who have distinguished themselves in their sector, and whom "the world envies

us":

Letteratura presents four representative figures from the world of Italian literature:

Alessandro Manzoni, Luigi Pirandello, Andrea Camilleri and Umberto Eco. In addition to

texts on the main aspects of their thoughts and works and a short biography, the volume

includes a work, a novel or a short story, by each writer in the form of a graphic novel

created ad hoc by established illustrators. Thus, perhaps for the first time, four famous

literary works, or parts of them, in an illustrated version to facilitate reading and make it

accessible to students at this level.

A section with activities, created in collaboration with the University for Foreigners of Siena,

offers students the opportunity to review what they have read in a more motivating way.

The volume includes the keys to the activities and can be use also in self-learning.
